New River: For decades, the New River has been revered as the best smallmouth fishery in Virginia as well as one of the best in the nation. The clear, cool, turquoise water flows under low, overhanging branches, big rock outcroppings, long riffles, and deep holes that provide the perfect habitat for smallmouth bass to thrive. From the time we put in until the time we load the drift boat on the trailer, it’s non-stop fishing.

James River: The James River flows along the banks of our lodge in Eagle Rock, Virginia, making this a backyard fishery. It is home to some incredible smallmouth bass fishing. Like the New River, the habitat consists of long, tree-lined banks with rocky shoals and outcroppings—perfect for smallmouth to thrive. We cover several stretches of the river depending on flows, water levels, and turbidity. It is in these stretches that we have dialed in tactics and locations for several healthy populations of smallmouth bass.

Jackson River: This is the best place in Virginia to throw big streamers for big brown trout. Located in Bath County, the Jackson River is one of Virginia’s most famous trout fisheries. Ample wild brown trout and rainbow trout, paired with both wading and boating access, make this river a versatile destination for trout anglers of all skill levels. We offer full-day floats and wading trips depending on the time of year, stretch of river, and water flow.
