Description

The Limay River Lodge is ideally located in the middle of 50 miles of secluded tailwater. Blessed with large, feisty rainbows and hungry, aggressive browns, this fishery is unlike any other in northern Patagonia. With constant water flows and abundant food, the fish grow big here, with fish over five pounds not uncommon. The placid flows offer many opportunities for dry fly fishing, and options abound for boat wade and float fishing. As if that’s not enough, the Limay Medio has a secret jackpot—large migratory browns enter the river throughout the year and give every angler a chance to catch the fish of a lifetime. With average-size browns of 20-25 inches and some ranging from 6-18 pounds, this is one of the best places in the world to catch monster-sized brown trout. But don’t forget the rainbows! They range from 16-24 inches and fight like fish twice their size.

The lodge, opened in 2014, was founded and is run by Argentine legend Jorge Trucco. After years of exploring this part of Patagonia, he settled on this ideal tailwater location. Supported by experienced professional guides on the water, every guest will receive a customized fishing experience matching their expertise level, from novice to expert.
