Description

The Turpin Messy Minnow fly was created by merging saltwater fly patterns with freshwater sizes. The Messy Minnow has a very realistic look and profile in the water, making it a fly pattern that fish can’t resist. The Guides at the Orvis Endorsed Rod and Gun Club at Pocono Manor have had success with this fly for smallmouth bass and trout on all of the Pocono streams, including the Delaware and Lehigh rivers. The fly pattern is meant to be fished on a long tippet with the weight placed 12 to 18 inches above the fly to maximize its natural movement in the water.
