Whether you’re interested in chasing steelhead in the waters of western New York or drifting limited access stretches of the Clarion River in northwestern Pennsylvania in pursuit of wild browns, Damon Newpher knows the fish and the water. He fished the Upper Clarion as a child with his grandfather, ventured west to guide in Montana as a young man, and returned to helm the Orvis-awarded Glendorn Lodge fishing and hunting operation for more than a decade. For those who set their sights farther afield, Damon has hosted trips to Belize, Mexico, and The Bahamas, and he keeps a bag packed and local guides at the ready.

Now based in Ellicottville, New York, Damon brings the unique combination of fishing expertise and hospitality experience to every adventure. From deftly navigating his ClackaCraft between proven holes to grilling midday steaks along a quiet riverbank, every detail is patiently anticipated for anglers of all skill levels.

And speaking of angling, when the steelhead are running, Damon will be wading into the fray along Cattaraugus Creek and the Lower Niagara River, just to name a couple. Depending on the season and the weather, though, he will also be fishing for salmon, musky, pike, and smallmouth bass, on lakes and rivers across western New York and northwestern Pennsylvania.

Half- and full-day trips are available, equipment is provided, and itineraries can be tailored to suit ambitions, abilities, and conditions.
